Have a cigar

Scott and Mary brought the kids to our pool a couple of times after they moved in... they'd decided not to have a pool when they built next door, but it was obvious that a pool was in their future.

Scott and I spend days thinking and strategizing about the pool... how big, where, negative edge, board or no board... all the while smoking some of the best cigars we could find. We smoked everything from Fuentes to a case of Trinidads I got from a place that shall remain nameless. Since I've moved away, I have often remembered those times... they were packed away and when I really needed it, I could dust the memories off and almost smell those Fuentes.

I bought a couple today, smoked one on the way to teach my night class tonight. I'll smoke the other on the way home, and it will remind me of good times spent in Scott's driveway, and of a subtle steady friend that I miss.
